Stapletons has lovely, spacious, self catering accommodation, its own parking and a canal side location with private terrace/jetty. The location is quiet yet only a few minutes walk to the beach, town centre, restaurants & cliff-top walks. Bude is perfect for a relaxing break or family holiday. The nearby Summerleaze and Crocklets beaches are popular with families and surfers. They offer long stretches of sand and there are plenty of rock pools to explore. The town centre has many independently owned gift and clothes shops as well as 3 supermarkets. Bude has an excellent golf course, tennis courts, and many other outdoor pursuits and facilities. There is also an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley and large indoor children’s ball park. You can take a stroll down the tow path or experience the canal on the water in our rowing boat. Once you arrive at Stapletons, the central location means there is little need to take the car anywhere if you don’t want to. However, North Cornwall and Devon have some wonderful places to visit for those wanting to explore further afield. Stapletons is grade II listed and retains many original features and character. Our sitting room contains a spectacular beam and there are more to be seen in the bedrooms. The open plan stair case for the property, whilst not original, compliments the house adding to the uniqueness of this special property. The building, originally Stapleton’s Saw Mill, was built approximately 170 years ago and remained so until the late 1800’s. It later became a Steam Laundry serving many businesses in the town and nearby areas until the 1950’s. It was used for various purposes during the 60’s and 70’s before being converted into 4 private homes in the 1980’s. |
