| Out and About |
Bude is also ideally located for those who want to venture further a field. Just a few miles south are the Historic Harbour villages of Boscastle and Tintagle (with its legends of King Arthur). Go North into Devon and you will find unspoilt and rugged coastline with beautiful villages such as Clovelly. For walkers there are many coastal walks as well as Bodmin and Dartmoor. For those seeking a culinary treat why not head to Padstow, home to TV Chef Rick Stein’s now famous fish restaurant (book early) and for those seeking a special day out there are boat and helicopter trips to Lundy Island. |

| Walking |
Just 5 to 10 minutes walk away are wonderful cliffs and footpaths including the south west coast path and the tow path on the opposite bank of the canal. Follow the canal to the end (approx 2 miles) and you can stop for a cream tea before strolling home again |

| Running |
The coast path is good for running as is the tow path where you will see many walkers and runners throughout the day. |

| Cycling |
On the opposite bank of the canal is a cycling path which takes you along the tow path and over the river in to town. 1hrs drive away is the Camal trail which runs between Bodmin and Padstow. |

| Surfing |
Surfing is a very popular in Cornwall and you are likely to see surfers in the water all year round. The less experienced surfer can try body boarding. Boards are cheap to buy and fun to use. It is also possible to get inexpensive wet suits. Useful links www.ravensurf.co.uk

| Canoeing & Kayaking |
Bude canal is perfect for canoes and kayaks. The navigable stretch of canal is often used for such purposes and group lessons are available locally. |

| Tennis |
There are municipal Tennis courts in Bude, approx 10 minutes walk from Stapletons. |

| Fishing |
Fishing is permitted from our jetty in the canal. It is a popular past time and there are several competitions throughout the year. |

| Brid Watching |

| Horse Riding |
The nearest riding stables are Maer Lane to the north of Bude. 01288 354141. Less than an hour’s drive away you will find good riding stables on Dartmoor. |

| Skateboarding |
Younger members of your party may be interested to know that there is a road stakeboarding competition held at Widemouth Bay every summer with many local entrants. For the more cautious skateboarder there is a park at Bude’s Crocklets Beach. |

| Swimming |
Bude has a large sea pool on Summerleaze beach and indoor pool with wave machine. |

| Ten Pin Bowling |
Bude’s Harlequin Centre next to the swimming pool has a bowling alley and bar. Most nights you can purchase light snacks and meals. |

| Children's Indoor Ball Park |
There is a very large indoor ball park for children at the Harlequin Centre next to Morrisons and Bude leisure Pool. |

In addition to the many pubs, bars and restaurants in the town you will also find a nightclub and amusement arcade. |
